Baby Jaxon Obituary, Death: Teen Charged With Murder in San José Toddler Case
The San José community is mourning the death of a 2-year-old child identified as Baby Jaxon, following a tragic case that has now led to murder charges against an 18-year-old suspect.
According to the San Jose Police Department, officers responded on April 5, 2026, to reports of an unresponsive toddler at a residence on the 300 block of Olmo Court. Emergency responders found the child in critical condition with severe injuries and immediately provided life-saving measures before transporting him to a nearby hospital.
Despite medical efforts, Baby Jaxon died on April 9, 2026. Authorities later ruled the death a homicide after further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the child’s injuries.
Detectives arrested an 18-year-old San José resident, who had been living in the home as the child’s foster sibling, on April 8. He was initially booked into juvenile detention on multiple felony charges. Following the child’s death, the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office formally charged him with murder in juvenile court on April 20, 2026, along with additional counts including child abuse resulting in death.
Prosecutors have also indicated they are seeking to have the case transferred to adult court due to the seriousness of the allegations. Authorities believe the abuse may have occurred over a period of time after the child was placed in the home in February.
The investigation remains ongoing as officials continue to gather evidence and await the results of an autopsy. The case has left the San José community deeply shaken as authorities work to establish a full timeline of events leading to the child’s death.
